Monday Deadline Placed On Shepherd Puppy’s Life After He Got Stuck In A Fence

Update 12/16/2023: Wolfie has a pre-adoption pending. Thanks to everyone who shared his information to help save his life!!

Dallas, TX – A German shepherd puppy, picked up as a stray and taken to the Dallas Animal Services facility, has a deadline that has been placed on his life. The six-month-old dog, dubbed Wolfie, was picked up after he got his leg stuck in a fence.

But Wolfie is a typical German shepherd. His behavior at the shelter facility is not acceptable by shelter guidelines. Why? He reacts with barking and growling when he is around dogs that he does not know.

Wolfie is just a puppy – an unsure, minimally socialized puppy. A puppy, who months ago was a tiny bundle of desirable puppy fluff, is now facing a potential death sentence.

The Urgent Pets of Dallas Animal Services Facebook page explains:

‼️DEADLINE MONDAY 12/18 at 11AM‼️
Adopt/Rescue
Wolfie A1197647
6 months old
Male
51 pounds
Heartworm Negative

Unimaginable – Wolfie is young, handsome, intelligent, and FULL of life. Wolfie should be living with a family who will appreciate everything this incredible breed has to offer. German shepherds are devoted companions, faithful friends, and exceptionally intelligent.

Shelter observations:

SHELTER OBSERVATION
On 12/11/23
Scared, ran to other side of kennel when I first greeted him. Called him over by his name and whistled a bit. He came over wagging his body looking a bit unsure. I threw a treat and he began look more exited ( he began to smile by showing his teeth, intensely wagging and closing his eyes a little) He came over and let me pet him through the kennel door.
On 12/8/23
Wiggly wagging tail and licking hands at kennel front

Please network this puppy’s adoption information. He will THRIVE in a home with a breed savvy owner. He will thrive with training, socialization, and love.

  1. If I didn’t have 4 pets already, I’d take him. I’d learn how to help him and love him. Please, rescue groups-please foster him. I just know he’d make a wonderful pet. Please, don’t let him be euthanized. Please.

  2. i think tje shelter needs to realize thataybe a dog barks or growls at another dog because of either their past experiences or natural behavior and they want to KILL him for it.
    NOW THAT IS UNEXCEPTABLE !!!!
