Tulsa, Oklahoma – Three dogs were fatally shot by their owner, who told the authorities he killed them because he had to move and could only take one dog. According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers were called to a home on January 20 to assist animal control following a report that a man, identified as Peter Petrov, fatally shot his dog.
Police found two living dogs at the residence and an additional two deceased dogs in the backyard; the dead dogs had also been shot. In a release, the police said:
He admitted to shooting them and said that he did so because he was being forced to move to a location that only allowed him to have one dog.
Petrov was arrested on three counts of cruelty to animals and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. The surviving dogs were taken by animal control.
