Fayetteville, NC – A North Carolina animal shelter recently took in a litter of puppies who were left at their facility by a homeless man who included a note of explanation. According to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, the letter the man included, “simultaneously broke and uplifted” their hearts.
Two days ago, the shelter shared the story they refer to as “a testament to the kindness that still exists in the world, even in the most challenging times.”
The shelter recounted the situation, writing:
We found a group of puppies at our shelter’s doorstep, left with a note that tore at our heartstrings. The note was from a kind soul, a homeless man who, despite his own hardships, took it upon himself to rescue these innocent lives after their mother, a local stray he cared for, tragically passed away.
The note explains that the man had been feeding a stray dog, but she was hit by a car and died. He searched for her puppies and found them, but did not have the means to care for them.
The note explains, “My heart shatters for them and their mother. I just want them to be given the chance their mother like myself, was never given. Please do not think poorly of me but it felt wrong leaving them alone in the cold waiting on a mother that would not be coming home. Sincerely, nameless man.”
The shelter expressed gratitude to the man, writing:
To this compassionate individual, wherever you are, we want you to know that your act of kindness has not gone unnoticed. Your empathy in the face of adversity gives us hope and inspiration. We promise to honor your selfless gesture by providing these puppies with the love and care they deserve. If you’re up for it, please swing by the shelter to visit the puppies and to get a proper thank you!

Such sweet innocent little pups, born into this huge, treacherous world swarming with unpredictable “humans.” Their mom too, who was also way too good for this world. One good reason why everyone should spay and neuter their animals and why dog breeders should not exist. Without the deliberate “overpopulation,” there’d be nowhere near the current number of homeless dogs out there. Thank goodness those 5 pups were in the hands of a good man. I hope and pray that each one gets a proper forever home with only good people.
Which begs the question – why the hell is it not mandatory for all domestic pets to be spayed within 4 weeks of purchase or before?

I hope someone can help this man the same way he showed love for all these dogs.

My heart broke as well, reading this sweet man’s note to the shelter. I know the Universe will repay him in a positive way for helping those 5 babies. This story also restored my faith that there is good in this cruel world.

This man, although homeless, has more empathy than the POS that abuse and murder animals. May he find the help and care that he should have.
This letter came from a man that loved these dogs and the mother!! If he didn’t he wouldn’t have done what he did!! God saw this and has mercy for this man, which will be remembered!!! I am sure these lovely puppies will not ever know what its like to not have anyone to help like their mother!! May she rest in peace in God’s Heaven!!!!!!!!!!! She knows her babies are cared for!!!!
