Queens, NY – The man who was arrested for setting a dog on fire in Queens early last Thursday has provided more disturbing information about the cruel incident. According to sources, Isaiah Gurley, 29, told investigators he was dog sitting his friend’s pet for several days and he kicked the dog to death.

Gurley dragged the lifeless dog to an Ozone Park street and poured oil he stole from an area store on the dog’s body before setting it on fire. The grim scene was captured on video and ultimately led to Gurley’s arrest.
But lax bail laws in the area have Gurley already out of jail on supervised release pending trial. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz has spoken out on the horrible crime, saying:
“Animals are not punching bags. They are not toys. They have every right to proper care, just as humans do.”
Gurley is facing a slew of charges including aggravated animal cruelty, fifth-degree arson, reckless endangerment and petit larceny; he could face up to two years in prison. Gurley is due in court on Sept. 17.
