Love At First Sight: Adopter Falls For Bonded Seniors Who Spent 818 Days Without A Home

Denver, CO – A bonded pair of Labrador retrievers finally have a home of their own thanks to an adopter who “fell in love at first sight” after they spent 818 days with a Colorado rescue group. Mile High Labrador Retriever Mission took the senior dogs, Hawk and Dekota, into their care after they had spent months at the Humane Society of Central Texas.

On Sunday, the rescue organization expressed joy for the adopted duo, writing:

We watched them recover from heartworms, be featured on the news, and grow a little more gray. Finally, the perfect adopter came along and it was love at first sight 🥰🥹
Hawk and Dekota’s story is a great reminder of why we do what we do. Two bonded seniors left to die in a Texas shelter now get to live the final years of their life never questioning if they are wanted or loved.

And gratitude to the person who fostered the pair while they waited to be chosen:

We can’t let this moment pass without publicly thanking their foster, Brooks. He loved them like his own for over 2 years. We are forever grateful for his time and commitment.

Other dogs are still waiting for their chance to be loved. Find the rescue group on Facebook at this link.
