Greenville County, South Carolina – Five dogs have been found shot to death in Greenville County, South Carolina, prompting an investigation by the local authorities. On January 2, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office issued a public release about the cruelty case, recounting what is known:
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in an active animal cruelty investigation.
On Saturday, December 27, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., our dispatch center received a 911 call regarding three deceased dogs found along McKittrick Bridge Road Extension in Fountain Inn. Investigators determined that each dog had been shot at least once and were left along with a blanket along the roadside. None of the dogs had collars or identification microchips, and an immediate search of the surrounding area did not locate any owners.

A short time later, the sheriff’s office announced the discovery of two more deceased dogs who were also shot.
Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigators are currently looking into a second disturbing scene involving deceased dogs, this time on Cioffi Road in Piedmont.
Two dogs were found deceased near the railroad tracks. Investigators determined both had been shot and left at the scene.
The dogs are described as:
• One male Catahoula/Pit mix
• One female black Pit mix
Investigators are unsure if the discoveries are related. The authorities are hopeful that a member of the public will provide a tip to help solve this disturbing animal cruelty case:

there was a video floating around showing someone in a dark hunting type suit shooting these dogs that was tied to tree’s… of course all the cases are related … i seen parts of the video, it was very sickening… this was done probably cause the area dosent have any animal control or shelters are full and this was a way to be rid of unwanted dogs….. well this is not how its done….fine the SOBs and charge with cruelty….
