Erie, Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania animal shelter is seeking information about an apparent case of animal cruelty in Erie. According to the ANNA Shelter, the Erie Police were informed about the presence of a deceased dog who was left in a dumpster last night.
The dog, Prince, is a miniature Australian Shepherd who was born in 2024.
In a public Facebook post, the shelter described how Prince was killed, writing:
He was freshly deceased and died from a close-range gunshot to the head. Someone knows this dog. Someone shot him in the head yesterday. Someone dumped his lifeless body in the dumpster last night.
Shelter staff is determined to find the person responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the ANNA Shelter at 814-572-5913 or EPD at 814-870-1125.
