Mahoning County, Ohio – A dog suffering from a horrifically infected leg wound had to be humanely euthanized after someone abandoned her outside of a rescue group’s shelter building in the freezing cold. The Mahoning County Dog Warden explained the heartbreaking situation:
We received a call from Every Dog Matters Rescue first thing this morning when someone arrived and found a horrifically injured female french bulldog at the back of their building. (6329 Market St in Boardman)
The call came from Devon who used to work here at the pound. Her voice was shaking and she was frantic. We contacted Shirley from Friends Of Fido MCDP so she could arrange a vet appointment and Devon rushed the dog in. The news was sickening. This dog had likely been hit by a car weeks ago. Her leg was so severely infected that it was literally dead.
By the time the dog was seen by a veterinarian, it was too late. The infection had spread to her entire body and there was no option aside from ending her suffering.

The abandoned dog’s situation was made worse by how she was left to suffer. The agency explains:
To make matters worse the security camera caught her being abandoned around 10:30 pm last night (Monday, December 15th). She was out in the freezing cold laying on nothing but pee pads for over 10 hrs.
Below is a video of the security footage. A police report was made. If anyone has any information about this precious girl or who her owner was, please contact Animal Charity of Ohio.
Rest in peace.
