Gentle, Confused Visually Impaired Dog Overlooked At Shelter Since May

A visually impaired dog named Archie has been overlooked since May. This gentle boy is confused.

Gardena, CA – For months, a gentle, visually impaired dog named Archie has been trying his best to navigate shelter life. Archie has been at the Carson Animal Services facility since late May, and nobody has come forward to offer him a home of his own.

Earlier this month, photographer Sophie Gamand met Archie, and she had this to say about the four-year-old dog:

Archie is such a lovely dog! At about 4 years old, he is good with other dogs and recommended for middle school kids and up. He did great in playgroups, is a vocal participant and corrects others nicely as needed, loves to play with calm dogs in a gentle, dainty way.

Adding:

a shelter is no place for such a gentle, confused darling. He’s been waiting since May with zero interest, which isn’t good 😣

Shelter life is hard on any dog. Imagine what it is like for a dog who is visually impaired. Adding insult to injury, nobody has expressed any interest in this gentle dog. Please help Archie find a loving home by sharing his adoption information.

  1. Sad that Archie has not found a home yet. He has a lovely nature and his visually impairment shouldn’t be a problem. Dogs are very good at coping with disabilities. I had a German Shepherd who we rescued who had lost one of her front legs. She managed very well and had a great life. Hope that someone comes along very soon to make his day.
