Fire Erupts At Seattle Doggy Daycare: Dozens Of Dogs Rescued, Including Five Who Were Badly Injured

Seattle, WA – On Wednesday afternoon, dozens of dogs were rescued from a doggy daycare facility after a fire broke out. The blaze started in the morning at the Dog Resort on Lake City Way, when over 100 dogs were at the daycare facility.

Fire crews worked to remove 115 dogs from the facility; many were administered oxygen, and five were reported to be seriously injured, requiring emergency veterinary care.

According to Ryan Simms, with KOMO News, no dogs died and many were reunited with their owners. Those who were not claimed were loaded onto a public bus and taken to an animal shelter in Kenmore.

Within the last hour, the Dog Resort posted an update to Facebook:

All dog and humans are accounted for. All dogs are going to one of these 3 locations.
