Elderly, 13-Year-Old Dog’s Owner Died And She Ended Up At Animal Control

Palm Valley, TX – At 13 years of age, an elderly dog named Moon finds herself homeless and alone at a Palm Valley animal control facility. The Texas Senior Shelter and Rescue Animals Facebook page explains what led up to Moon’s current situation:

Her previous owner is sadly deceased. Moon was left behind once the home was sold. She has cloudiness to her eyes and a mass on the right side of her abdomen towards her underbelly. It is squishy and about the size of a small plum/large cherry. Does not seem to bother her.

And describes her fear and confusion:

She’s shaking alone on a cold concrete floor with other dogs barking around her

This senior girl did not ask for the end of her life to wind up this way. And she surely does not want to be in this situation. Imagine going from a life with the person you love, to being alone in a frightening, unfamiliar location without any comforts of home, or familiar people.

Please end this nightmare for Moon by sharing her information.

  1. Poor dear, sweet little Moon. She looks like an angel. She’s even potty trained as stated at the link. I hope and pray that she gets saved by her ideal person or family real soon. Sad that this article is from the 8th, six days ago. If I and my brother, both seniors, didn’t already have 4 rescued dogs between us I would be tempted to save Moon, but we are not such great prospects for dogs anymore, with no true “safety net” for them except for each other. No dog should have to end up in a terrifying prison-like shelter, ever. People need to do far better than the same old habits. And DOWN with all dog breeders.
