Sampson County, North Carolina – Dozens of dogs perished this week in a tragic building fire at a dog breeding operation in Sampson County. According to sources, the fire took place at the Black Creek Kennels breeding facility on Wednesday night.
Reports indicate 40 dogs and puppies were in the building when the fire broke out and approximately 30 of them are believed to have perished. The building where the dogs were housed collapsed.
Black Creek Kennels breeds boxers, cocker spaniels, and dachshunds. Sampson County Fire Marshal Prentice Madgar said the blaze appears to be a “tragic accident.”
Nobody was home at the time of the fire.
