Apple Valley, California – Dogs are intuitive…knowing when it’s time for a walk, or when their person is about ready to arrive home from work. It is not a stretch to assume that they also know when their time is running short; to know that their life is in danger.
A young dog at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter seems to know that he is on the “euthanasia” list. He is curled up in his kennel run, eyes shielded from the sad world around him. The year-and-a-half old German shepherd, Ruffles, is on the list of dogs in danger of being put down.
The Saving Shelter Dogs from Euthanasia Facebook page shared Ruffle’s story less than 24 hours ago, writing:
This may be the last time Ruffles is seen
He is still curled in the corner. Still quiet. Still waiting while being scheduled for euthanasia. If no one steps forward, this is how his story ends—not with love, but with silence.

Providing ID number and more information:
Ruffles, ID #256115, ALT ID #12-3-25 11, is an intact male (cryptorchid), about 1.5 years old and weighs 51 pounds.

Please share Ruffles’ information to help save him from being put down. He deserves so much more than his current reality.
Another dog who seems to know her sad fate is Olivia, a German shepherd mix at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino, California. Saving Shelter Dogs from Euthanasia says, “Unwanted German Shepherd — but she still looks at every footstep as if it might be the one that saves her. 💔This is Olivia’s last day to live, and she doesn’t know what that means. She only knows she’s alone, pressed against a cold wall, quietly waiting for someone who may never come.”

Olivia’s fear and sadness is written all over her sweet face. You have the ability to turn her fate around by sharing her adoption information. Time is of the essence for both of these beautiful dogs who have nearly run out of time.

Ovivis is on the kill list#A 811981along with ruffles
I have always rescued animals but i have never known and seen such cruelty than i have this past few years. I will never in a million years understand why humans are so cruel. Every country needs tough laws to serve out every cruelty case . Animals are not commodities , they feel, they are sentients and they want to live. The punishment must fit the crime !
God Bless these poor beautiful creatures of God ✝️ Ipray they will be saved by good souls 🛐
