Nashville, TN – A dog who survived a deadly hit-and-run accident that killed his owner was found sitting outside of her apartment, waiting for her to return. According to sources, the uninjured dog apparently walked home to wait at the door after the Wednesday morning accident.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is searching for the driver of a 2009 to 2014 model Ford F-150 truck; parts of the truck were discovered on the road near the accident.
A passerby found the victim on the roadway of Rio Vista Drive; the 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the Skyline Medical Center. The woman’s dog was transported to Metro Animal Care and Control.
