Aurora, Colorado – A Colorado dog owner’s worst nightmare came true when he entrusted a pet sitter to care for his senior dog, Maverick, during his three-month National Guard deployment, and the pet sitter not only stole his car and dog, but his dog did not survive. As reported by CBS News, Maverick was recently found deceased in his stolen vehicle, which was left at a Logan Street parking garage.
Andrew Beckham entrusted Andrew Jansen to care for his 11-year-old Husky while he was deployed. Jansen was found through the Trustedhousesitter.com site, and all seemed to be fine initially, but after a month Jansen went silent. Beckham utilized social media and the news in an effort to find his missing dog, and his stolen car.
On April 17, Beckham posted information on Facebook:

Now, Beckham wants others to steer clear of the man responsible for his dog’s death. He is working with the authorities and is hopeful that Andrew Jansen will be found and held accountable for what he did.
He said, “If he were house-sitting again, I think people need to know. If he’s using other agencies, people need to know. Because he made Maverick suffer a lot.”
