Palm Beach County, Florida – The owner of a Delray dog daycare was arrested and charged for an attack that left a small dog with a fractured jaw. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release about the cruelty situation involving Jason Hershman, owner of canine daycare facility Wanderlust Dogs in Delray Beach, and a dog named Cosmo:
An investigation began and revealed that Cosmo was healthy immediately before being left alone with Hershman, after which staff heard a loud cry and found the puppy bleeding from the mouth, shaking, and unable to stand normally.
Veterinary examinations conducted in the days following the incident documented a fractured premolar and a right-sided mandibular fracture requiring multiple surgeries. Both the treating veterinarian and a veterinary dental surgeon specialist independently concluded Cosmos injuries were caused by significant blunt force trauma.
Hershman was investigated after the local animal control agency received “multiple complaints” from employees at the dog daycare facility who said he had a history of physically striking dogs.
The investigation led to Hershman’s arrest on December 17, and a charge of aggravated animal cruelty. He was booked into the Palm Beach County jail.

I’ve Iearned a few things over the years, and one of them is never Ieave your dog at a boarding and/or training facility. And don’t hire sitters you don’t know and trust.

Exactly. This what I keep saying all along. NEVER leave your dog at one of these supposed boarding/ training facilities ( unless you know the people or have seriously checked them out) as many of these are set up by diseased minded animal torturing bastards as it gives them a free reign to take out their ‘sick’ fantasies on innocent animals of the unsuspecting owners! One thing is for sure, this piece of shit would be looking at something more than a broken jaw if this had been my dog I guarantee!! But saying that, I would NEVER EVER take my dog to one of these anyway as I do not trust them! And—as for the ‘supposed’ training aspect, it is not just’ good boy, sit and here’s a treat for you. Your dog will be punched, or kicked into submission until it quickly learns by fear and punishment. So you end up with your dog obeying you through fear of a beating or suchlike.
The answer is simple, if you love your dog but cannot take it with you then DO NOT GO. Or— if you don’t have the time or the inclination to ‘self teach’ your dog DO NOT HAVE ONE!!!
