Ballard, WA – A dog entrusted to the care of employees at the Lazy Dog Crazy Dog daycare in Ballard died after being viciously kicked and punched by a staff member. According to charging documents, Dejean Cornelius Bowens repeatedly kicked and punched a Labrador retriever named Mitch causing fatal injuries on August 3.
Bowens allegedly got mad at the dog after the retriever knocked something over. Surveillance video shows him kicking the dog and then punching him as the dog tried to hide.

The probable cause documents shows that the dog was not taken to a veterinarian until 5:45 a.m., more than an hour after he was attacked. By that time, it was too late – the dog was bleeding internally and had a ruptured kidney.
As reported by KOMO News, Mitch’s family was supposed to pick him up from the facility on the same day that their dog died. The dog daycare stated that Bowens was fired from his job “immediately” after the deadly incident.
Bowens was formally charged on Sept. 29 – he is facing the crime of first-degree animal cruelty, a Class C felony; he is scheduled for arraignment this week.

So terminating this employee will actually help him??? He’ll do this violent act to a stray dog or cat or to his own animals or go to a shelter to volunteer. Maybe throwing his ass in jail will work!!!
Firing is the very least that sadistic raging goon deserves. People, stop leaving your animals with strangers. If they’re on display for the public at all times, that’s one thing, but if any privacy for the staff with the animals, it’s no good.
I agree 100%
