Watonwan County, Minnesota – Officials in Watonwan County made a grim discovery at a property where a woman was operating an animal rescue. The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was running the pet rescue on a friend’s property; the friend contacted the authorities because of the concerning situation.
Trash bags strewn across the property contained the bodies of dogs who did not survive. As reported by Fox 9 News, the woman, who has not been publicly identified, said she got in over her head and was struggling with her mental health.
Animal Humane Society and investigators worked to remove the surviving dogs from the property; the dogs are receiving veterinary care at the shelter.
It is unclear if the woman will face any charges.

It’s dog breeders who should be doing all of this suffering!! Dog overpopulation drives some people crazy and they end up doing evil acts themselves because of the sheer number of animals and being unable to care for them all. THE BREEDING HAS GOT TO BE ENDED! Puppy mill operators deserve capital punishment.
this was not a breeder…. she was a supposed rescue,( and not an legit one either) over her head , so she’s saying mental health was the cause of it…. i call BS… she was probably a hoarder , not a rescue…. there is a difference….
Omg she better be facing charges wtf!!! I know plenty people that have mental illness and take great care of their pets. In over her head?? Too bad she knew what she was doing! Better get charged!
Mentally ill woman collected animals and created a deadly hoarding situation. What kind of “friend” didn’t keep checking up on this situation? Why did she allow this person on her property without any training in running a rescue. Why isn’t there oversight on these places? ANY nutcase can hoard animals and call it a rescue.
They are ALL guilty in this situation.

The old Mental Health excuse again. This is getting tiresome now. Charges need to be brought against this woman and the friend as this amount of damage didn’t happen overnight! Those dogs have clearly been suffering for months, if not years.
