Update: This dog has been rescued! No information about who is responsible for saving him.
San Antonio, TX – A dog picked up as a stray and taken to the San Antonio Animal Care Services facility on October 14 has been so badly neglected that his breed is unrecognizable. The shelter has listed this dog as a “black and gray” hound, but a close inspection of his intake photo shows coloring that may indicate he is a Doberman.
Regardless of his breed, it is clear that he has not been cared for in a very, very long time. And aside from his glaring skin condition (suspected to be untreated mange) is his obvious look of utter defeat – the sad result of no love, and no care.
According to his adoption profile, he needs to be spoken for by Wednesday, October 18.
If you still believe you may be my owner please make arrangements to pick me up as soon as possible by 2 pm on 10/17/2023. I will need confirmed adoption, foster, or rescue placement by 10 am on 10/18/2023.
For those unfamiliar with open-intake animal shelters, stray dogs are held for a certain number of days and then they can be released for euthanasia.
This dog deserves to know what being cared for feels like. He deserves to know love. Please help save his life by sharing his adoption information.
