Colonial Heights, Virginia – A Virginia animal control agency is seeking answers after the discovery of three badly neglected puppies who were abandoned by the Temple Avenue bridge coming into Colonial Heights from Prince George.
The Colonial Heights Animal Control said:
These 3 puppies were found abandoned in DEPLORABLE conditions. Their coats were caked with feces and urine, and they smelled horribly. They clearly had been neglected for a long time. Even after three baths, they are still oily and filthy… 💔
Adding:
We are asking the community’s help to identify where these puppies came from and who is responsible.
Location Found: Temple Avenue bridge coming into Colonial Heights from Prince George
Time Found: Around 1:26 AM (overnight Saturday night, Easter Sunday morning)
The puppies were reportedly found loose, huddled together on the side of the road and placed in a tote to keep them safe until officers could arrive.
These puppies appear to be about 3–4 months old, possibly a Lab/Hound mix.
They are extremely shy and fearful, acting like they’ve had little to no human interaction—even touching grass seemed unfamiliar to them.
If anyone has seen anyone posting puppies that look like these, or recently taken in a similar puppy, or heard anything or know anything at all, PLEASE reach out immediately to the animal control agency.
