Devore, California – A young dog, just three years of age, has been euthanasia listed at the Devore animal shelter in California. The Yorkshire terrier mix, dubbed Orville, has been at the facility since March 30, and his time is up.
Orville has a multitude of medical issues, but they are treatable, and he has a long life ahead of him if he can find the help he needs before it is too late.
According to shelter notes, Orville has an upper respiratory infection, corneal ulcer, and dry eye. These are treatable medical issues – he just needs to be rescued and taken to a veterinarian.
A video of Orville, taken at the facility, shows a bright, engaging pup with a wagging tail. He certainly does not deserve to die. Please share Orville’s adoption information to help him find the help he needs, before he is gone forever.

He has only been there less than 2 weeks and he is already on the euthanasia list? I agree with all the previous sentiments,,, why can they not at least move the dog to a non-kill rescue and let thapem treat the dog. Like all these kill so called “shelters” they take the easy way (read, less expensive” way of dealing with issues like this. I sincerely hope someone steps up and saves this little guy, he is not beyond help, not terminal just needs a committed saviour.

I agree. shelters are suppose to help a dog heal and find a home. why aren’t they trying to find him a home. I would take him in a second but I’m on the other side of the country. there has to be someone to step up for this dog. even if it is to foster. HE DOESN’T DESERVE TO DIE JUST BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO SEE A VET. AND BE TREATED FOR SOMETHING TREATABLE

What is wrong with these places? Shelters heal, slaughterhouses kill. This dog deserves a long life in a loving home.
