Silsbee, Texas – Joshua Nolen, 29, was arrested this month for allegedly using his personal pistol with a silencer, to “euthanize” shelter dogs at the Silsbee Animal Control. Nolen was an animal control officer when he allegedly used the 22. caliber pistol to put down “multiple” dogs.
The now former animal control officer was arrested last Friday on a charge of Improper Methods of Euthanasia. As reported by KFDM News, Nolen was released on Saturday after posting bond.
As reported by 12 News Now, Nolen was arrested after a local rescuer found the bodies of multiple deceased dogs in the area around the animal shelter facility. Michelle Ladner, who runs the Angels To The Rescue, tells the news agency, “I was walking the dogs, I let them play in the creek right here and we came upon a dead floating dog,” Adding, “I seen six or seven dogs right here at the ditch or the bank that still had fur, meat on them, collars.”
Nolen was removed from his position and the remaining dogs at the Silsbee Animal Control facility were transferred to Vidor Animal Control.

A fitting punishment for this worthless individual would be to shoot him and remove him from the rest of humanity. People such as this individual contribute nothing but grief to our society!
I wonder how long this has been going on. I know this is a rural shelter and that this practice has gone on for decades in these rural areas, but this is the 21st Century for God’s sake and there is NO EXCUSE for this happening! A Humane Animals Rescue would have come out in a heartbeat to take these dogs, but this dog officer and the supervisor who ordered him to do this were too lazy and unconcerned to reach out for help!
The ACO and his boss must be brought up on charges, even if this is rural TX. These dogs were someone’s pets at one time. They deserved better, and I don’t mean the damn ‘gas chambers.’

Although silencers r legal in TX it is my understanding that they r for hearing protection and hunting. If I lived in TX I would see if he could also be arrested for using a silencer illegally. Then the ATF will be after him. It becomes a federal offense. RIP beautiful pups. U did not deserve this.

Everyone who worked at that facility needs to be investigated and possibly charged as well. Mutiple dogs don’t just disappear. There’s no way that other employees didn’t know what that psychopathic piece of shit was doing to those poor dogs.

An animal control officer. This is like someone from child services beating a child to death; a freak deliberately and cruely killing defenseless living beings for sick thrills.
