Alabama Rescue Caring For Severely Burned Puppy

Montgomery, Alabama – An Alabama rescue group is fighting to save the life of a severely burned puppy who appears to be the victim of cruelty. The River Region Animal Rescue has dubbed the injured puppy, Ed.

On Tuesday the organization let Facebook followers know that Ed was receiving emergency care, and that he needed a blood transfusion for what is believed to be widespread chemical burns.

Ed was initially found by a good Samaritan who thought he was suffering from a severe case of mange. But when Ed was taken to a veterinarian, it because clear that the widespread damage to his skin was the result of chemical burns.

On Wednesday the agency provided a public service announcement, and an update about the abused pup:

FOR THE LOVE OF ED, PLEASE DO NOT PUT CHEMICALS ON YOUR DOGS SKIN WITHOUT VETERINARY APPROVAL.
I know there are a lot of myths about motor oil, gasoline ETC.
They can cause CHEMICAL BURNS. If you need help with your pet PLEASE reach out!!!
Ed is miserable and we don’t know his exact story, but we feel like this whole situation could’ve been prevented.

The doctor called us today with an update and he finally sitting up and eating. ♥️

Until Ed has recovered, he is in good hands. The agency said:

Dear ED,
We make this promise that no human will ever hurt you again!! We promise to give you all the love and use soft, caring hands. YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT HAPPY LIFE. You will know love. This world is full of cruel humans, but there are good ones here also. ❤️
Love,
Your friends at RRAR

As reported by WAKA News, the rescue group is working with law enforcement to find out who is responsible for Ed’s injuries.
