Devore, California – A young, terrified Doberman is facing a premature demise at the Devore Shelter in California. The two-year-old dog, Hunter, was picked up as a stray near N 3Rd Ave X W Hill Dr in Arrowhd Subfrms on September 27, and today his is on the shelter’s euthanasia list.
His advocate shares a heartbreaking encounter, writing:
I stood in front of Hunter’s kennel today, watching this beautiful boy shake and shiver, and my heart broke for him. 💔
For the first few minutes, he didn’t even acknowledge me. He just stayed there, trembling. No excitement, no reaching out, nothing. I don’t know what this boy has been through, or what’s going through his mind, but seeing him like that was absolutely heartbreaking.
After a few minutes, he finally got up and accepted some treats from me. That small moment meant so much, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how defeated he seemed. Hunter is only 2 years old, and he looks like a dog who is beginning to give up.
Hunter’s adoption profile shows he is sick with an upper respiratory infection. One more nail in his coffin…scared, and sick.
Please share this young dog’s adoption information. He is scheduled to be put down this week – time is of the essence to save his precious life.
