Spokane Valley, Washington – The Spokane Valley Police have announced the arrest of a man suspected of abusing a 12-week-old puppy. According to the authorities, a witness reported seeing 39-year-old Christopher R. Myers, throw, hit, and abuse what was described as an approximately 12-week-old white and brown puppy, causing it to cry and yelp.

When the authorities questioned Myers, he admitted to bringing the puppy outside because it had an accident on the couch. He then claimed to have stepped in feces on the porch and said he “picked the puppy up and “tossed” it into the grass.”
The authorities said, “When asked, he declined to surrender the puppy to SCRAPS.”
After reviewing the witness statements and evidence, deputies and a SCRAPS Officer determined there was probable cause to arrest Myers for felony animal cruelty 1st degree and misdemeanor animal cruelty 2nd degree.
The puppy was seized for its safety and taken to an emergency veterinary clinic for an exam.
Myers was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for felony Animal Cruelty 1st Degree and misdemeanor Animal Cruelty 2nd Degree.
