Daytona Beach, FL – A terrified and traumatized dog was rescued from the depths of an apartment complex in Florida over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The mixed breed dog was saved, but it appears that he was intentionally placed in the compactor.
Brandon Arroyo, who rescued the pup with the help of his wife, Heather, tells WESH TV:
“You know, to put someone in the trash compactor like this … it’s beyond just kicking him out to the street. He doomed this dog. If no one found him, it would have been over for him.”

Heather Jones started a fundraiser to help the dog get the veterinary help he needs after being saved from certain death:
Unfortunately, it appears his rear end is in need of medical attention, as he can walk, but with great difficulty. I’m sure this will involve X-rays and potentially surgery. He’s not in any pain, but we want to get this sweet boy the medical attention he needs and the care he deserves. He’s a gentle and mild-mannered dog, who doesn’t appear to be very old at all.
The local authorities have opened an investigation; no arrests have been made as of this time.
