Washington County, TN – On Wednesday, the Kingsport Fire Department shared a heartwarming rescue story about a dog stranded in an area impacted by devastation from Hurricane Helene. According to the fire agency, a police K9 spotted a dog high up in a tree near the Nolichucky River.

Fire personnel found a ladder and climbed the tree to help the stranded dog get safely to the ground where she was provided with food and water.
According to the fire department, the dog was turned over to the local animal control with the hopes that she will be reunited with her family soon.
