86 Dogs Rescued From Deplorable Conditions At House

Ceres, CA – A welfare check earlier this week led to the discovery of dozens of dogs living in squalor at a home in Ceres. Officials found 86 dogs living in a house where an elderly woman and a four-year-old child were also living with three adults who were arrested for child and elder abuse.

As reported by the Associated Press, the rescued dogs were taken to the Stanislaus Animal Services facility and the young child and senior woman were placed into the custody of Stanislaus County protective services.

The animal shelter posted images of the rescued dogs on Wednesday and asked for help from the public.

The agency outlined the ways people can assist:

As reported by KCRA News, oxygen levels in the home were just 16 percent because of the high level of ammonia inside; the residence was deemed “unlivable.”

The individuals arrested are identified as 43-year-old Lissette Stdenis, 43-year-old Seth Badal and 22-year-old Freddy Vasquez; the trio are expected to face charges of animal cruelty in addition to child and elder abuse charges.
