Clearwater, FL – A puppy named Nova was left “trembling, shaking, upset and visibly distraught” after being attacked by 19-year-old La’Myah Jade Rumph. According to the authorities, Rumph was enraged because her five-month-old puppy had an accident in her apartment.
The Clearwater Police Department (CPD) responded to a disturbance call and reported a violent attack on a puppy named Nova. According to CPD, Rumph grabbed Nova by the neck, punched her with a closed fist, and threw her into a metal crate with such force that the crate’s door broke. While the terrified puppy trembled inside, Rumph poured pickle juice and hot sauce over her.
The affidavit said the area where Nova was found was “scattered with feces,” and the puppy was unable to fully bear weight on her left hind leg due to injuries sustained from the incident.
The cruel attack resulted in Rumph’s arrest and a charge of 3rd degree felony cruelty to animals – after being read her Miranda rights, Rumph admitted to her actions. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
La’Myah Jade Rumph was described as “enraged” when she picked Nova up, punched her with a fist, and threw her into the metal crate. This is outrageous, unacceptable behavior that must be addressed with serious legal consequences.
