Jacksonville, Florida – A Florida woman is facing nearly a dozen felony charges for intentionally running over ducklings. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, 64-year-old Beverly Sasberry was witnessed running over 11 ducklings with her a red Honda Accord on Tempest Street. According to the couple who saw the cruel act, Sasberry turned her vehicle around “multiple times” to hit the ducklings.
In a public release, the authorities provided the disturbing reason Sasberry gave for running the babies over with her car:
The couple confronted the woman a few days later, and she told them she intentionally killed the ducks because she was upset they made a mess in her yard. The couple reported the incident to our District 4 Patrol officers, sharing surveillance video of the woman driving over the ducklings.
The police were able to identify Sasberry and conducted an interview which led to her arrest and 11 felony counts of Cruelty to Animals.
The police said, “We do not take animal cruelty cases lightly. If you see someone committing a crime against an animal, please give us a call (904.630.0500).”

I strongly agree that hateful monster deserves to be run over! That would be better justice than the electric chair or prison time! I just wish witnesses would have stopped her instead of watching and then confronting the monster a few days later.
Those poor ducklings deserved to live out their lives free of harm.
I had emailed the state attorney asking for her to consider prison time if they won’t put this killer in the electric chair.

I’d bet any animals owned by her also died a sad death. She seems like someone who’d lock an animal in a crate without food or water until it died.

This woman is evil and cruel and must be jailed for this deliberate and wicked crime against these poor ducklings. She must also have a lifetime ban on keeping, owning or working with animals from now on.
She needs to behind bars for years for such cruelty. She is a very despicable person.
Why are people like this loose on the streets? I guarantee you she’s been in trouble with the law before or her family knew she wasn’t right. No excuse for those of us who follow the law, and innocent animals, to be in constant danger because braindead judges and lawyers continue to tolerate people like this. ENOUGH!
