Hillsborough County, Florida – A 33-year-old Florida woman was arrested and charged after police reviewed video showing her throwing and kicking a puppy. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Imania Davis carried the small white dog by the neck, threw the pup to the road, then kicked him, hit him in the head, and threw him again.
The violent incident left the Maltese puppy with a broken leg and a bleeding nose.
A Sheriff’s Office employee viewed the abuse happening in real time on a Real Time Crime Center camera. A deputy was dispatched to the location and found the injured pup, who was transported to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center for treatment and care.
Police arrested Davis, charging her with six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
In a news conference, Sheriff Chad Chronister said:
“I truly feel that anyone who would harm and inflict the type of pain she did to this little puppy has a special place in hell one day, when that day comes for her.”
