Update 9/16/2026: Nora’s adoption profile shows that she has been adopted! Thanks to everyone who networked on her behalf!!
Thousand Palms, California – A six-year-old German shepherd named Nora has been slated for euthanasia this week – specifically, on September 17. A shelter volunteer is pleading for help for the beautiful dog with the picture-perfect smile.

Time is of the essence for this beautiful girl. She has a neurological issue of some sort, but she clearly wants to love, be loved, and most of all, to live. Please share her story. If you are interested in helping Nora, please reach out directly to the animal shelter (Coachella Shelter). Information to help is listed below.

What kind of shelter has a “this Week’s Euthanasia List”???? Why kill a healthy dog???? This is not a shelter, this is a hell!!!
What a beautiful dog! I don’t agree with kill shelters. This always happens and it breaks the heart of the volunteers as well. I hope somebody comes through for sweet Nora. It’s so sad the way we treat animals we as humans always fail them. God bless the sweet puppy and bring someone to give her more life!!
