Volunteer Pleads For Dog In And Out Of Shelter System Since 2018 – She Is ‘Oh So Sweet’

Chatsworth, CA – A dog who has been in and out of the shelter system since 2018 is running out of time. A volunteer is pleading for the six-year-old dog, Nala, to be saved.

The volunteer explains Nala’s situation:

Between 2018 and 2019, Nala was surrendered and redeemed a couple times by the same family due to landlord issues.

In 2021, she was adopted and returned because she didn’t get along with a dog.

In 2022, she was adopted and returned because she didn’t get along with a cat. She has not been out of the shelter since then.

Nala has everything stacked against her. She is a black dog (look up black dog syndrome), she is a pittie mix, and she is dog selective.

Right now, with crowded shelter conditions. dog selective dogs are being put down and Nala is quickly running out of time.

Though Nala may not be a fan of all other dogs, she does love people. The volunteer said:

But she’s oh so very sweet to people! She loves them all, she greets all strangers kindly. She’s gentle, playful and loves attention. She takes treats gently. She likes to fetch.

Because of Nala’s past run-ins with dogs, she is not allowed to go on field trips. The volunteer said:

So there she sits, waiting for a miracle.

The volunteer pleads for Nala to be spared:

So despite her wonderful behavior to humans, she may be killed soon. She’s on what’s called a yellow list (approx 30 days) and will be moved to the red list (two weeks) and her time will be up.

It would be tragic for a dog like her to spend so long in the shelters only to die after. Please help us get her seen so she can have her happily ever after.

Nala may never have the chance to know what it means to be truly loved. To live in a home where she is part of the family. To have the gift of living out her natural life.

Please help her beat the surmountable odds stacked against her by sharing her adoption information.
