Utility Crew Finds Dog With Duct-Tape Mouth And Bullet Hole In Head

Cowlitz County, WA – A dog who was bound in tape and shot in the head miraculously skirted death and was rescued after a utility crew found him in a ditch along Spirit Lake Highway last week. Initially, the crew thought the young golden retriever, dubbed Trooper, was dead…but he lifted his head, letting them know he was still very much alive.

Trooper was transported to the Cowlitz County Humane Society where an exam revealed the bullet missed his brain, but lodged in his jaw. For the time being, the veterinarian has recommended against removing the bullet, reports KPTV News.

Amazingly, Trooper is not only still alive, but his sweet, gentle demeanor has remained intact. And now, he will get to enjoy the life he deserves because Dylan Schulda, the utility crew leader who helped rescue him, has decided to give Trooper a forever home.

Efforts are still underway to find whoever owned and/or hurt Trooper. If you have any information please submit a tip to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Department via this link or call 360-577-3092.

  1. Thank goodness the rescuer is going to keep Trooper! Poor angel, what a godawful thing to have gone through. His torturer is a very dangerous “person” and needs to be found and stopped from further abuse of innocents, to say the least.

  2. Find the perp(s) and do the exact thing to them. Their life is no more valuable than Troopers. Actually Troopers is more important.
