Graham, WA – Approximately 80 cats and kittens were discovered in a camp trailer in Graham on Tuesday after a concerned neighbor contacted the authorities. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, most of the cats trapped in the 30-foot trailer were infested with fleas and suffering from upper respiratory infections.

The seized cats have been taken to the Humane Society for Tacoma/Pierce County. On Wednesday, the agency said:
Just yesterday, 84 cats and kittens were removed by Pierce County Animal Control from a dire situation. Many sick, underweight, and some caring for newborns. One kitten needs emergency surgery after her eye ruptured from severe illness.
Now safe at our shelter, they’re getting the urgent care they need — but with over 460 cats and kittens under our care in the shelter and in foster homes, we need your support to keep up.

Donations to assist the shelter in their care for these cats can be made at this link.
