Texas Man Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison For Punching And Kicking His Dog

San Antonio, Texas – A Texas man caught on video abusing his dog in 2019 has been sentenced to 25 years in prison; one of the longest sentences ever recorded in Texas for an animal cruelty case.

A good Samaritan captured the abuse of a Rottweiler named Buddy on video and that video led to the lengthy prison sentence handed down to 56-year-old Frank Javier Fonseca.

The damning video evidence showed Fonseca punching and kicking Buddy; Fonseca also hit his young dog with a piece of wood and choked him. Amazingly Buddy survived the abuse and he has since been adopted by a new family.

According to a news release from Animal Care Services, Fonseca’s prior felony convictions, including drug possession and crimes of retaliation, allowed for a heavier sentence.

  1. Oh, this is great news! I hope that he will get kicked punched and then some while he serves time. We are the voices for these precious animals. Let’s never get up on them.
This is Awesome! Finally to see justice.

  2. Love this. The dog survived and has a new home and the piece of trash will most likely die in prison never being free again. I wish that was the norm.

  3. Miraculous sentence, though only because of his priors. That should be the sentence for a first-time offender. It would be if that had been a human child. All animal abuse should carry the same penalties as human child abuse. PLEASE contact your representatives — local, state, and federal — on a regular basis demanding much harsher punishments for animal abusers. Minds are changing, we have a better chance now than we ever have to make these monsters suffer as they should. But we have to demand it and we have to do so relentlessly. You know why the NRA gets everything they want even though there are only 5 million members in a country of 330 million? Because THEY NEVER SHUT UP making their demands and threatening politicians with losing their coveted positions of power if they don’t give the NRA members everything they want. We need to do the same. Relentlessly.

  5. THANKS SO MUCH SUE FOR THAT INFO!!! I HAD NO IDEA THAT THAT WAS THE STANDARD PROCEDURE ON TRAINING DOGS, IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, ETC.!!! THOSE MOTHERFUCKING ANIMAL ABUSING/NEGLECTING SADISTS MUST BE TORTURED/NEGLECTED THE SAME WAY THEY INFLICT SUCH AGONY ON THOSE LOYAL/DEFENSELESS DOGS!!! MEANWHILE, THEIR PUSSY/PUTRID ASSES SHOULD BE THROWN IN PRISON, WHERE BIG BUBBA CAN SLAM ONE UP THEIR ASSES WHILE THEY’RE IN THE SHOWER AREA!!! I RESPECT DECENT/MORAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, NOT THIS TRASH THAT GIVES THE UPSTANDING/OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY OF OUR MEN/WOMEN IN BLUE A BAD RAP!!! RENEE CARIGLIA

  6. ANYONE WHO ABUSES/NEGLECTS AN ANIMAL MUST SUFFER THE SAME EXACT TORTURE THEMSELVES!!! PRIVATE CITIZEN/LAW ENFORCEMENT/SERVICE ANIMAL, ETC., IT’S ALL THE SAME!!! TORTURE/NEGLECT THE PERPS AND MAKE THEM AGONIZE!!! RENEE CARIGLIA

  7. I would like to know what happened to the younger dog that he hit with a piece of wood and choked. Does anybody have any info on that?!?!

  8. It’s about f****** time! But his prior convictions shouldn’t have had anything to do with the sentence. He should have got 25 years on the abuse that he committed on those innocent animals alone. But if you want my personal opinion….. well, I’m going to give it anyway, LOL! I am a firm believer in an eye for an eye for animal abuse. Whatever he did to those animals is what should be done to him, plus jail for the rest of his miserable excuse of a life. Also I am really sick and tired of people saying that oh because he did it to the dogs he could do it to people. It’s a statement that makes it seem like because he did it to animals it’s not as bad as if he did it to humans. Well I completely disagree with that! Harming an animal should be persecuted by ITS OWN MERIT, not by the fact that he could possibly do it to humans. I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYBODY THINKS BUT AN ANIMAL’S LIFE IS EVERY BIT AS PRECIOUS AND AS IMPORTANT AS A HUMAN’S, MORE SO THAN MOST HUMANS.

  9. About time too. No normal person does this. Anyone who does needs to be punished. They’re not punchbags and deserve respect, love and compassion. What about the English magistrate not long ago. Beautiful GS was “getting under his feet” so he hit her on the head with a hammer! Then tried to strangle her with a length of washing line then threw her beautiful body in the river! Post mortem showed that she was alive when dumped so she suffered agonies at the hands of this bastard. A magistrate! Knew the ropes, all the ins and outs of the legal system and played the system for all he was worth. Initially he lied to the RSPCA and police but then told the truth. Do you know what he got? A fine!!! Molly dog. My heart is squeezed every time I think of her. He commited the most atrocious crime about a dog who looked to him for everything and this is what he did. But because he was a magistrate he walked away scott free. He should have got the same Christ if I ever see him!

  10. AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!! I’m over the moon!!! I really, really hope this type of punishment becomes the norm EVERYWHERE in my lifetime.
