Boca Raton, FL – Four kittens are alive, despite being abandoned in a taped-up plastic litter box that was left in the sweltering 93-degree Florida heat. According to staff at Tri-County Animal Rescue League, the litter box was left in a parking lot – at first, it was believed to be a simple donation, but meows from the box revealed it was something dreadful.
The animal welfare agency said:
At first, our staff thought it was a donation, until they picked it up to clean it and heard meowing. Inside were four terrified kittens, sealed in without any holes for air, no water, no food… and no note. No names. No ages. No history. Nothing.
Stating what should be obvious to any sane person:
Let us be crystal clear: this is unacceptable. Abandoning animals in such a cruel and dangerous way is not only heartbreaking, it’s potentially fatal. These babies could have died in that box.
There are safe, humane, and legal ways to surrender animals. If you need help, we are here to work with you, not against you. But dumping a life like yesterday’s is not the answer. It is never the answer.
Adding the positive outcome for the four abandoned kittens:
But here’s the silver lining: they’re safe now. They were bathed, fed, and tucked into soft blankets, purring and beginning to trust. Their little lives were nearly stolen, but now, thanks to our team, they’ve been given a second chance. 🐾
Please, share this as a reminder: do better—for them. Always.
