Young, sad German shepherd is out of time and in need of a hero.

Update 9/8/2023: Rescued by Paws For Life Rescue. Thanks to everyone who helped network Marcus’ information!

Devore, CA – A sweet, sad German shepherd is in need of a hero. The four-year-old dog is at the San Bernardino County – Devore Shelter and he is out of time.

A short video of the young dog, dubbed Marcus, reveals his despair. The sadness and loss of hope is apparent in his beautiful, soulful eyes.

Marcus does not deserve to die. He deserves to live in a home with someone who adores him. He deserves to chase after a ball, run through the grass, go for car rides, and walk by the side of his person.

Please help save this dog’s life by sharing his adoption information. Losing this noble shepherd would be a travesty.

    • Don’t be stupid or make such BS comments…you know the shelter isn’t going to ship you a dog. If you wanted to, you could fly or drive out to CA and adopt if you were really serious and yes people do do that on occasion. Please consider adopting a dog at your local GA shelter if you really want to help save a life.

  2. I am going to call on him today–4 yr old should not be in danger–the problem is not the shelter its the people in the area that think nothing of getting rid of a animal. I come from there and I adopted from the Fresno shelter and they were getting ready to put down a older tiny dog who was so loving. So people help out and save your animals-stop dumping them—-

    • Well said! So many dogs/ cats being put down each day across the country some found some dropped off at high kill shelters by “ owners who say they dont have time anymore!?what??? I have 8 4 are rescues best dogs I have ever had … even the with our crazy schedules we find ways to play with them in the yard try to take them out on walks, do the best that we can with the busy household we have but at the end of it all I know that it’s better than dropping them off at a high kill shelter and if I had to I guess last choice if it came to it then I would try to rehome any of my dogs. If I really needed to maybe ask a Rescue to help me re home, but a shelter nope. 🐾♥️

  3. Anyone serious about providing a loving home would have called already, not told us all they were going to call. Stop the virtue signaling, stop the stupid comments. There’s a life in the balance. And Devore is a notoriously overcrowded shelter, as are ALL shelters in these post-COVID times. If you’re serious and can provide a qualified, loving, permanent home, do the necessary work. If not, go back to sleep/playing games.
