Stunning German Shepherd Has Waited Over A Month To Be Saved, Final Plea Has Been Issued

Downey, CA – A stunning German shepherd named Abina has been waiting for over a month at the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Downey facility. During the weeks that have passed, nobody has come forward to save this four-year-old dog’s life.

Now, a final plea has been issued, which means that she will be put down soon.

An advocate writes:

Abina’s final plea was sent 9/19/23. Shes gorgeous, silly, playful Malinios/gsd‼️
She’s fun and excitable in playgroup she loves water.
She’s the ultimate bestie.
Abina, might try to scare you away in the kennel if you approach her. If you leave her be she’s fine. But if she barks at you just know she’s scared.
But she’s the sweetest.

Describing her encounter with Abina at the shelter:

The minute I took her out after baby talk and a treat. [She stops immediately barking with sweet talk] The minute I opened the door she gave me a hug. A hug like I was her long lost bestie.
She’s so cute, silly, gorgeous a beauty.

This gorgeous dog is in the prime of her life and she would make an excellent companion. But that will never happen if she is not adopted or rescued in time. Please share her adoption information to help save Abina’s life.

  1. Is transport available? I live in CT and I will love to give her a loving home with a fenced back yard to play in and all the hugs and kisses our family will give her. Is she good with other dogs? We have a Mountain Curr I rescued from being euthanized in 2014 and was my failed attempt to be a foster mom. Our family fell in love with her and we kept her as one of our own. Lexi is now 9 years old and goes camping with us and goes on rides, walks, hikes. We owned 2 German Shepard sisters we rescued together but they both passed away 2 years ago due to health related issues since they were puppies, they were 11 years old.

  2. Hi. I live in Ontario Canada but would like to help rescue these pups. Is there any way to do that from here?

  3. ONE MONTH? — there are GOOD Shelters that HOLD Animals for YEARS — You MUST NEVER KILL healthy & treatable Animals — make connections each day in order to create opportunities to Foster, Hold, Adopt Animals — we do NOT KILL — HOLD — HOLD — HOLD — keep reaching out to Fosters, then those People will reach out to other Adopters — continue to get the word out — in the meantime, HOLD onto the Animals — get VOLUNTEERS on board to walk the Dogs, play with Kitties out of the cages — the more GOOD & CARING People involved, the more success will come.
