Shelter Seeks Adopter For Dog Homeless More Than 1000 Days

Batavia, Ohio – A shelter dog in Ohio has spent more than 1,000 days waiting for someone to choose him to be their companion. Billy Bob, described as a “shy” boy, has been at the League for Animal Welfare for over 1,056 days.

This week, the shelter writes:

Billy Bob is still here 🙁
After some promising meet-and-greets with some big-hearted humans, we really hoped he was on his way to his new family.
But no such luck. Instead, Bobbers is going on day 1,056th at our shelter (he’ll hit his 3-year anniversary with us in April).
That’s not fair to any dog, let alone a senior dog. Please, help us find his family ❤

Billy Bob is a senior dog, just over eight years of age. According to his shelter biography, he is “highly intelligent,” albeit a bit standoffish with new people. His biography says, “Once you are his friend, he loves to hang out on the couch with you and also go for walks and play with toys. We have not been able to acclimate Billy Bob to any dogs here at the shelter but was in a foster home with two other dogs who he loved and would even snuggle and nap with on the couch so we know that it is possible for him.”

Billy Bob deserves the chance to spend the twilight of his life in a real home, with a family of his own. Please share his story to help him find a new guardian.

  1. I pray for him to finally get his proper, real home with great people and no scumbags allowed ever. He does look shy, and that is so sweet. So unlike vile breeders and puppy mill operators.
