Senior Dog Sat In Shelter Window For 71 Days Until A Special Plea Was Made On Her Behalf

Las Vegas, NV – A senior dog named Lucy spent her days staring out the window of a Las Vegas animal shelter…waiting for someone to choose her to be their companion. Things looked bleak for the lonesome dog until the Animal Foundation issued a plea on her behalf on social media.

On December 29, the animal welfare agency Tweeted about Lucy’s plight.

And that social media nudge was just what was needed to get Lucy the attention she needed to find a home. Not long after Lucy’s situation hit Twitter and Facebook, the rescue group let everyone know that she had been adopted.

While social media may be considered to be the bane of existence for many, it remains an invaluable asset to homeless pets waiting for their chance to be loved.

  1. So pleased that sweet Lucy’s patience paid off. I hope that the rest of her life is filled with love and cuddles….bless her little heart, and thank you to the person who chose to take her home. No more waiting Lucy, unless it’s for a treat, obviously! ❤🇬🇧

  2. There is a lot I do not like about social media, and while I am not on any of the sites, i appreciate the good things that can be done. It certainly worked for Lucy. Old animals are wonderful. I adopted my old dog a year ago August and he will turn 16 at the end of the month. No dog should die in a shelter but old dogs do not understand why they are there if they have had homes for most of their lives. Really, no dog understands. I am very happy that Lucy has a new home and people to love her.
