Update! Muffin has been adopted – thank you for networking on her behalf!
Manhattan, NY – A senior cat, 15 years of age, is sitting in a lonely cage at the New York City Animal Care & Control facility after her owner went away, and she was not included in the move. Now the cat, Muffin, watches expectantly as potential adopters walk by her cage…seeking a new companion, but sadly, not an older companion.

Albert Harris Photography writes of the sad situation:
That’s the question swirling in sweet Muffin’s tired, confused mind as she curls up in her cold shelter kennel after 15 years of loyalty. Her owner couldn’t take her along, and now this gentle soul, who once knew the warmth of a home, spends her days aching for just one more chance to be loved.
Every time a stranger walks by, her frail body trembles with hope. She leans into their touch, purring weakly, as if to say, “Pick me, please, just pick me.” But time and time again, she’s passed over left behind as kittens and younger cats find homes.
Adding:
People see her age and turn away, afraid of the inevitable goodbye. But what they don’t see is the love still left in her weary heart, the way she nuzzles into every gentle touch, the way she still believes someone out there will choose her.
Please do not let Muffin’s story end at the shelter. She longs to be loved and she did nothing to deserve being stuck at a lonely animal care facility.

Does anyone have any proof that this little one was adopted I do see a couple of posts that say she was?
What I don’t understand is why humans don’t take their cats with them when they move?! Cats are sentient beings! They are family! They matter! Anybody who dumps their kids because they move or they have children should be pissed on and shot!
Mary, I love your post and couldn’t agree with you more !
May this beautiful creature of God ✝️ find a loving forever home.🏡
I went to adopt her and it said ‘pet not found’ I hope she was adopted and not euthanized. She deserves to live out the rest of her years with love and cuddles
Patrice you’re awesome, thank you for trying to adopt her
Didn’t you ask the staff ?
ADOPTED
thank goodness she was adopted
I’m so happy so is adopted. I just read about her & I would have gladly taken her in. Pets are not disposable. They should be love & cared for until the very end of their beautiful lives.
vous êtes sure ? ou peu ton avoir la confirmation svp ? merci
