Manhattan, NY – An eight-year-old cat has seemingly been forgotten after his owner left him with a caretaker and never returned. Now the cat, Pewter, sits in a lonesome shelter cage in Manhattan – watching as potential adopters walk the aisles and pass him by.
Albert Harris Photography shares Pewter’s sad story, writing:
Pewter waits day after day, curled in the corner of his kennel, his golden eyes flickering toward the shelter door every time it opens. Maybe this time, maybe this time it’s for me. But the footsteps pass by, the voices coo over kittens, and once again, he’s left behind.
Three months ago, his owner left him with a caretaker, promising to return. They never did.
Now, Pewter doesn’t understand. Was he not good enough? Did he do something wrong?
Adding:
He still loves so deeply, still purrs when spoken to, still nuzzles gentle hands, still hopes. But in a world that moves too fast, he’s just another senior cat, overlooked, fading into the background.
His heart hasn’t given up, but time is running out.
You can help turn Pewter’s life around – please share his adoption information with the hope that it reaches someone in the position to take this sweet soul in. Pewter deserves to live out the remainder of his life surrounded by love.
