Memphis, TN – A young dog at Memphis Animal Services has deformed legs, scars on his body, and an aura of defeat. The three-year-old, dubbed Ziggy Wigglesworth, has been at the shelter facility since mid-May and his hope of ever being loved is fading.
His advocate writes:
He limped into the shelter alone—scars on his head, deformity in his leg, and sadness in his eyes that no one could ignore. They named him Ziggy Wigglesworth, but there’s no wiggle in his walk—only the heavy shuffle of a dog who’s been through more than most survive.
Ziggy doesn’t bark. He doesn’t play.
He just stares at you—his eyes pleading, silently asking: “Am I finally safe now?”
And “Will someone ever love me like I was never broken?”
Nobody knows Ziggy’s history, but his eyes speak volumes, and his sadness is painfully evident.
Please help this dog find the love and security that he desperately longs for. He may not be the “perfect” dog that adopters are searching for, but he is absolutely deserving of love. He has been cast aside for too long.

Note: All inquiries about this dog must be made directly to the shelter facility. National Animal News is not the point of contact and has no affiliation with this dog, or this facility. At-risk pets are featured with the hope that the increased visibility will help them secure a rescue group or adoptive owner.
Thanks for reading! We appreciate you.

How does a dog walk into a shelter by itself? In any event, thank goodness for these caring people who are trying to find a home for this deserving dog!
Get him out of TN and the damn south! Transport him to the east coast and he will get adopted!
Yes-get him out of the south and to a reputable rescue. His eyes say it all. if I didn’t already have the situation i have-I’d take him. I think there are enough caring people to donate to his medical needs.
Please!!
What a beautiful soul inside that poor malfunctioning, injured body. He looks like a shy sweetheart. If only someone will give him a chance to show himself as the awesome companion he is. Dogs in general are a million times too good for this hot mess of a world. Where’s the justice? Certainly not here! I would love to have Ziggy if we weren’t old and already with too many dogs. God, please bless Ziggy with his perfect forever family.
