McKeesport, PA – An ailing cat, facing certain death on a frozen driveway in McKeesport, is alive today thanks to the intervention of a good Samaritan. According to KDKA News, Stacey Nebinski saw the cat, gently wrapped her in a towel, and worked to find help.
Help for the frozen cat came from Carly Toth, cat coordinator for Pet Friends, and professional intervention at Barnes Lake Veterinary Center, where the cat, dubbed Birthday, was rushed for care.

Pet Friends writes, “This is the first day of the rest of her life ❤️After 4 hours of work at the Barnes Lake Veterinary Center yesterday, this sweet girl is starting to feel a bit better (and demanding food). The entire staff of Barnes Lake jumped into action and didn’t hesitate to get to work.”

According to the rescue group, Birthday is not fully out of the woods, but they are committed to helping her make a full recovery.
We are doing everything that we can to make sure she fully recovers and never spends another day in the cold.
