Rescue Team Saves Puppy Who Fell Into Deep Well

Apex, NC – A mischievous puppy found herself in a predicament after falling into an old well in Wake County over the weekend. The Great Dane puppy, Mudge, had been running through the woods near her family’s home when she tumbled into the old well; fortunately, the well was dry.

Her family called 911 and several agencies responded. On Saturday, the Fairview Rural Fire Department wrote:

Today, a very large puppy named “Mudge” made several new friends with Fairview Rural Fire Department Swift Creek Fire Dept, and Cary Fire Department. Our friends at the Cary Fire Department were able to rescue the 100 puppy this afternoon around 2 pm. Mudge is doing well and will take a long puppy nap this evening. 🐶

It took several hours to retrieve the pup from the well; amazingly she only suffered a small cut on her leg in the fall.

Owner Janine Haldene said:

“To have her come out and … lick the guy’s face that pulled her out of the hole, like, wow. It was really special. They did all of this for my dog, and she is part of our family, truly, so God bless them.”
