Murfreesboro, Tennessee – The authorities are searching for the driver of a truck that pulled a small dog approximately 600 yards last week, causing fatal injuries. According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Tuesday night near Burleson Lane and Justice Drive.
In a public release, the authorities confirmed the dog did not survive his injuries:
Witnesses recovered the injured dog from a ditch and took him for medical treatment, said Rutherford County Sheriff’s Detective Andrew Quintal. Rutherford County Pet Adoption Welfare Services reported Friday the dog “succumbed to his injuries.”
The truck is believed to be a white Ford pickup truck, possibly a F250 model. White spotlights were attached to the driver’s and passenger’s side and the hood of the vehicle near the mirrors. A light bar was attached to the top of the cab.
