Belcamp, Maryland – A family’s three pets died in a housefire started by a counter-surfing dog who accidentally turned on a toaster. The blaze consumed a portion of a house at 4319 Foxglove Court in Belcamp on Friday night.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal said an investigation indicated that one of the family’s dogs accidentally started the fire by jumping onto the kitchen counter and turning on the toaster, which “ignited nearby combustible materials.”

The dog responsible for the fire, Bo, was rescued, as well as another dog, but two cats and a third dog did not survive. The owners of the home were not at home when the fire started.
