Over 80 Dogs Begin Life Anew After Being Rescued From Deplorable Conditions

Mansfield, OH – More than 80 dogs have been rescued from deplorable conditions in Richland County. The Humane Society of Richland County said:

Overwhelmed. Heartsick. Stressed. Did I mention overwhelmed?
This morning, we removed 65 dogs/puppies from one residence, along with 15 nursing puppies.

Adding:

It was an absolutely disgustingly filthy environment.

Photos reveal the filthy conditions that dogs were forced to live in.

The horrible situation was discovered on Saturday when the Richland County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to a call about excessive barking. As reported by Fox 8 News, deputies found a “rusted-out trailer” holding cages filled with dogs.

One man, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, is facing charges for neglecting the 82 dogs and puppies.

The Humane Society is collecting donations to help care for the dogs taken in from the property. Find them on Facebook at this link.

  1. The owner of these dogs should be forced to live in the feces filled cage in the photo for at least 82 days – 1 day for each dog that suffered. And then they should be imprisoned and make sure all the fellow prisoners know why the guy is in jail so hopefully someone who beat him senseless for being cruel to animals. He should also pay for the medical care and housing of the animals until they are all adopted. He should be banned from owning animals again and his property should be confiscated and sold at auction with the proceedings given to local dog rescues.

    • AMEN! I absolutely agree! These cretins should be made to live as they make these dogs live & should be held financially responsible as well as serving jail time! I’m beginning to think a national registry for animal abusers should be set up so that they’d have to register anywhere they live. Then neighbors would be aware & could make sure they don’t set up the same situation all over again!

    • Yep!! I would also include all people that dump animals in shelters – make it mandatory that they sleep up right in a chair in the shelter for a night – supervised by the staff and a cop – and make them do mandatory volunteer work at the shelter – so they experience and see the stress and paranoia the animals and the shelter staff are forced to experience each day!!

    • Plenty of despicable breeders who aren’t Amish, but they are among the worst abusers who think of animals as nothing but a commodity. Until they face consequences, it will continue. One of them dropped off an obviously overbred dog in a crate half the size she needed. She was unable to walk because her spine had grown curved for so many years. No charges. It’s heartbreaking.

  2. Such cruelty is unnecessary! What is wrong with people. Probably Amish. Make him pay to feed and the medical care they will require. Then make him sit in his shit and starve him.
