Putnam County, Florida – On September 3, officials removed more than 30 “aggressive” dogs from property in Putnam County. According to the Putnam County Sheriff, deputies conducted a search warrant at a Swan Lake Road residence after a months long investigation into aggressive dogs at the property by Putnam County Animal Services.
A release from the authorities indicates the arrest of Mark Plosila, 67, of Melrose, on charges of one felony and one misdemeanor of animal cruelty.

The agency explained what prompted the investigation, writing:
Neighbors have reported complaints of aggressive dogs at 182 Swan Lake Drive. Recently, complaints included dogs attacking one another in the yard, dogs climbing the fence to get out of the yard and that there were around 15-20 dogs in the yard. As a result of a civil suit, Putnam County Animal Services received an order in August requiring Plosila to surrender all but five of the dogs.
The order directed Animal Services to respond on August 25. Deputies accompanied Animal Services due to potential safety concerns. Due to the aggressive nature of the dogs, it was recommended that it would be unsafe for the county personnel to enter the property without law enforcement. While staff attempted to make contact with Plosila, several dogs began attack two dogs tethered to a vehicle. Plosila did not exit the residence to break up the attack or separate the dogs.
Sheriff H.D. ‘Gator’ DeLoach commented on the dogs’ impact on the residents near Plosila’s property:
“We realize for the residents in this neighborhood, the process to get to this point was a long one. No one should feel afraid to walk in their neighborhood because someone cannot control their dogs. Animal Services worked hard to find a permanent resolution for their neighborhood where the residents will no longer feel trapped in their home. To do that they had to work through the court system. As they worked through that process, we were also able to build a criminal case based on their reports and observations.”
Animal Services conducted a temperament evaluation on the animals due to the reported aggressive nature of the dogs. A total of 15 dogs were euthanized, eight at scene and seven at Animal Services.
The authorities said the puppies are not available for adoption at this time, writing:
The puppies are with their mothers and are unavailable for adoption. Once weaned they will go to foster homes for socialization. The remaining dogs are at the shelter currently decompressing before being available for adoption.

why the hell did this guy have 30 dogs to begin with… breeding, fighting, its all the same .. all for money… he should have been thrown in amongst all them dogs and let them teach him how to play nice….this is all to sad for the dogs, but it really wasn’t their fault… it was the POS that held them against their will… i bet they could have been fine dogs if they was with the right people…. sorry it had to end this way…. now they need to lock this SOB up for 50 yrs…. no pleas, no probation… hard long time….
In a civilized country (alas, none exists on this poor planet), victims are not killed; instead, the guilty are punished. The poor dogs the authorities murdered were victims—victims of a piece of human scum who ought to be rotting in prison for life. As for the victims themselves, they should have received behavioral training that would have quickly sorted out their issues…
Shame on the authorities.
Hit these fuckin monsters in the wallet! Make them pay dollars. Guarantee no more abused animals. These are just wasted space biological garbage not human!
daily EVIL from DEVIL usa. Murdering dogs/animals daily for no reason.
Evil is everywhere.
Human mankind is evil.

We should always euthanize the owners. Then give the dogs a chance.
i am with u on this…. id be happy to be the one to pull the trigger….
It’s ridiculous that the creep was allowed to keep five dogs. That makes no sense. Those poor dogs were victims of a human and the environment they were subjected to.
THIS CRIMINAL NEEDS 10 YEARS IN JAIL !!!!
DOGS SHOULD NEVER EVER PAY THE PRICE OF CRUELTY & CONFINEMENT

Nobody should have 30 dogs . If they’re aggressive, something bigger is happening! Are animals and humans are at riskThere’s nothing good that can come out of this… euthanasia was the only option.. so sad. We humans do this to animals when we led them breed indiscriminately and we don’t control them. And we don’t socialize or treat them kindly I’m so sick of people dropping the ball in a perfectly good animal has to be you euthanize because they couldn’t be bothered to do the right thing by the animal. He should never be allowed to own any dogs I don’t understand why he was allowed to keep any of these dogs.
This is heartbreaking for the dogs that had to be euthanized. I hope that the rest of the dogs can be helped and find good homes. People who don’t know or don’t care about the welfare of animals should not have them.
